WsyncMgr.log – Sync failed: Class not registered

We run a SCCM 2012 SP1 CU5 environment and recently noticed that our wsus sync is not working as it was last updated 1 week ago, where in fact it is set to run on a daily schedule.

When investigating the WsyncMgr.log file, we noticed the following errors that occurred: Sync failed: “Class not registered” and “Sync failed. Will retry in 60 minutes”


Upon searching for a solution online, I came across the following Microsoft Support ( article that assisted us in resolving the issue.

Although it failed to re-register the registry keys mentioned in the article, simply exporting the following registry key from one of our primaries HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E5272449-2083-4020-ACEE-18A145F79A75} , and importing the registry key on our CAS and manually running the wsus sync resolved the issue for us.
